GLOSSARY · PRESCRIPTIONS
Titration protocol, the plan for raising a dose step by step.
A titration protocol is a dosing plan that starts a patient on a low dose and adjusts it in set steps, based on how the patient responds and tolerates side effects.
01
What it means
Many telehealth medications are titrated. GLP-1 drugs are the common example: semaglutide for weight management starts at 0.25 mg once a week and steps up every four weeks toward a maintenance dose, and tirzepatide starts at 2.5 mg and rises in 2.5 mg steps. Hormone therapy and thyroid medication are also adjusted in steps, often guided by labs.
A protocol sets the steps, the time between them, the check-ins and labs required before each increase, and what to do about side effects or a missed dose.
02
Why it matters to a brand operator
Titration shapes the whole subscription. The price may change at each step, the pharmacy has to ship the right strength at the right time, and the patient needs a check-in before the next increase, so billing, shipping, and messaging all have to follow the dose schedule.
It is also where patients drop off. Side effects often peak after a dose increase, and a patient who hears nothing from the clinic at that moment has little reason to stay. A check-in a few days after each step is clinical follow-up and a retention tool at once.

How Tessic Health handles it
Tessic Health's Grow program runs care workflows keyed to prescriptions, including titration check-ins on schedule, refill confirmations before each shipment, and escalation to a provider when a patient reports a side effect. Cold-chain fulfillment ships each strength temperature-controlled.
